Presentation of the gallery
Galerie Maïa Muller is a contemporary art gallery located at 19 rue Chapon in March 2013, in the 3rd arrondissement. It promotes and disseminates a national and international contemporary creation characterized by its protean and transversal aspect where painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video are often practiced on the same field.
The gallery has organized the first solo exhibitions in Paris of young French and foreign artists such as Io Burgard, Célia Muller, Yesmine Ben Khelil, Fritz Bornstück and offered the opportunity to rediscover the work of established artists such as Jean-Michel Alberola, Myriam Mihindou, Hassan Musa and Gaston Damag, whose careers can also be followed in the collections of prestigious institutions (Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo, Musée du Quai Branly, Musée MAXXI - Rome).
Presentation of the artist in focus
For this edition of Drawing Now, we would like to present the new works of Myriam Mihindou from the series Le Patron. The artist uses paper soaked in lemon tea or hibiscus infusions, the words are inscribed or sculpted by copper wires. It mainly evokes a liquid universe. Flows, flows, currents and dispersions: a true fluid mechanics that concerns both geophysics and the human body.
Myriam Mihindou will present a solo exhibition at the Musée du Quai Branly (February 2024) and at the Palais de Tokyo in October 2024.
For this edition, we will also present a young artist whose main medium is drawing: Célia Muller, and the emblematic works on paper of Jean-Michel Alberola.
