Symposium
As an international platform dedicated to professionals and enthusiasts of contemporary drawing, we are organizing a symposium that will be held throughout the Drawing Now Art Fair at the Carreau du Temple, Paris 3rd.
Curators, institutional and independent directors are invited to explore key themes in the landscape of contemporary drawing and art in general. Topics as broad as education and the public, design and society, as well as new technologies and science – including animation (the central theme of our exhibition this year) – will be discussed by leading specialists and actors in the world of contemporary drawing in Europe and beyond. We also offer artist interviews that will offer insight into their exploration of these topics within their studios.
The symposium is organised with the support of Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council.
All the conferences – a programme of meetings with international personalities – will take place in the auditorium of the Carreau du Temple on Thursday 21 March (free access on registration) and in the Talks Area on level -1 of the Carreau du Temple the rest of the time (from Friday 22 to Sunday 24 March). Each conference lasts 1 hour and will be accessible after the fair on our Youtube channel.
